I ordered my Diesel Denali, with premium and premium capability packages on 1/20 and just learned from my dealer that it was accepted some time ago my TPW is actually this week (3/7)!

That’s a big surprise, as I though it was still sitting at 1100, given all the constraints, especially with diesels…

Congrats to you both - I have the exact same build but put the order in a bit later than you ... I think I'm going to have another Sad Trombone Constraint Day tomorrow. Given that the Denali Premium package is on constraint until at least April, I'm about ready to bail and just check back in in July to order a 23.

Curious, for those who ordered 22's last year ... when did you order them and when did they arrive? When did the earliest 22's show up on the street?

I had an order moved from 2021 that ididn’t make in time for the 2021 cut off. I moved over to 2022 and I am still waiting. I don’t feel hopefully for this model year as the cut off for orders is in April. July is start of 2023. So unless my order is picked up soon looks like 2023 here I come
Yukon xl Denali
Ultimate package
Reduced to reserve package

So what can we expect in July if I were to order a 2023? I’m guessing with all the craziness going on nothing’s going to change - meaning, there will still be shortages, etc., so as soon as the 23’s are available to order there will STILL be things on constraint. The only difference is it’ll be a 23 vs. a 22?

I guess what I’m wondering is if the cut off for 22’s is April, what happens between April and July? Do they hoard parts and stuff so when the floodgates open in July for 23’s that they’re actually ready to build these without features missing?

I think the shortages will alleviate because GM's competitors such as Ford, Toyota, and Stellantis will also be increasing production and introducing alternatives in the market regardless of whether GM increases production or not.

My friend just ran a query on Manheim for used 2021 and 2022 GMC Yukon Denali XLs and he has said that the used price of those vehicles had dropped significantly in the past 60 days which is indicative of demand as well as inventory.

It would not surprise me with this bottleneck of 2022 models behind in production line that they delay the start of their 2023 production. Honestly I only see the car situation getting worse, not better.

I had a Chevy dealer put in a 22 Order for a suburban in August of 21, then I changed my mind and wanted to go Denali. The order got built and arrived at his place around mid October. He sold it same day. I committed to my GMC Dealer to order the Denali on 11/6/21, the order went in on 12/4/21. It arrived at my dealer on 2/6/22, and the only thing missing was Steering Column Lock and 4 way lumbar, all the other options in the current Denali Reserve package were included...at the time of order, Reserve package didn't exist, so I ordered Denali Premium Package, Max Trailering, Premium Capability Package -- which is basically the Reserve Package content now.

My Suggestion is that if you are not in a hurry, and are willing to wait for what you want, communicate w/ your dealer your wants, get a commitment, and then just get the order on the books and let it happen. If you are not willing to compromise, and have a solid vehicle you can continue to drive, just put it in, and let the dealer inventory manager handle it...and eventually they will get an allocation and will order it, then it will get built, and you will have what you want.

I had my expectations set on it getting to me in May of 22, so when it happened in 3 months, I was happily surpirsed.

I don't have the exact build date, but I think it was right around the first of the year. It started showing on GMC's Inventory Web Site the first week of January as "In Transit." And I took delivery on 2/11, so took about 5-6 weeks to get from Arlington Plant to Southeast Minnesota via rail and truck.
