What is this noise coming from the center console?

it's the blend door actuator for the hvac, try adjusting the heat/cold control down just a hair that usually stops it, if not then you may have to replace it

my guess is the Blend door also.

my ex wife's suburban does the exact same thing only her's has the sliding control, if you adjust the right side down just a hair it stops making the noise.
I haven't messed with it beyond that but I would venture to guess the actuator needs to be replaced.

Mine does the noise from time to time. I bought a new actuator when it gets worse.

I'm not inspired to dig into there....... yet.
