Hey guys. been a while...

since replacing the front diff, Rear end, and transfer case I've put roughly only 500 miles on the truck... I ended purchasing a toyota sienna and going back to the ****...lol

anyway, while it was in the garage I noticed my blue fluid on the floor... I crawled underneath and saw it leaking from what looked to be the drain plug... but after closer inspection it look like the whole outer housing is cracking...

in what possible way can the case crack, when im not driving and maybe put 400 miles on the new rebuild... it's the original case, and my mechanic said he'll change it out for nothing if it get a new shell, but how is this even possible?!?!? overtightening? cold? me buying a new car(lol)? I can't see how see would miss this since it wasn't that way when we took it apart...

Here's a few pics... any help on the why's to this question would be helpful... I have a for sale sign on it and a puddle underneath it... I think I have no choice in getting a new shell.

My first thought would be that something was assembled right and tightening the cover forced it into position. I did this with a vintage fishing reel and family heirloom once! But I really don't know, I'd be googling if I were you and waiting for the fellas who know more than I about this to chime in.

I don't think your Yukon liked being sidelined for a ***.

I'll be honest, this truck has been a cancer on our family since we got it.. I've dropped over 5k into this truck and Its been more headaches than it's worth.

I bought a toyota because I enjoy driving my vehicle, not working on it.

I hate saying it on this forum but this truck had been the worst vehicle purchase ive made since 1996..

I want to love it, I've put more blood sweat and tears into this truck than all my other vehicles combined..

im confused how this could show up with little more than some daily driving.. driving it like it's a baby needing to break in correctly and this is what I get... lolz

your theory has merit though, being pushed into place and stress on the housing maybe heated it up and cracked it?

I told my wife if I didn't need to sell it I was gonna curb alert it, then when people showed up they'd find a charred corpse of a truck by the road...hahahaha

so frustrating, apologies for venting on the ones who live for this stuff, I thought I was able to rid myself of this without having to rip apart the truck again and dump another 175 bucks into it before I can put the for sale sign on again.. price just went up!!!! lolz
