So, it hardly ever rains in the aussie outback, but when it does... man its bad. Considering most of the roads out here are dirt, it makes things interesting. I took a trip to blow off this cabin fever after being rained in for a week. I went to check out some meteor craters just outside of town, nice 4x4 trip with alot of water..

I almost killed the yukon in a particularly deep section, but got the engine shut off and drained the water out of the intake before it had time to do any damage.... close call for sure, i need a friggen snorkel. There is one section that floods out deep enough to come up to the doors, its a 3km section of road that basically turns into a lake....a hard slog for sure. Anyways, heres some pics, hope you guys enjoy.

Looks like fun. Glad you didnt sink it. I have done some creek crossings where the water is so clear you think it is shallow, but then you hood goes under. :uhoh2:

thats exactly what happened, hood went under in the nasty muddy water, pucker factor went to about 18

I have a K&N open FIPK, so it was a close call for sure. I probably would have faired a bit better with a closed box... oh well the yukon and me are comming back to the US here in a month, so no more water play till then.

aussie land is cool, its heaven for the 4x4 touring types. Loads of great adventures to do. Ive lived here for 2 years now, its time to come back home and enjoy the easy life in the US for a while.... seriously, no walmart...wtf mate?
