Stock ride height with 33 inch tires works fine

Pulled the trigger on some upgraded tires for the wife's Tahoe. Its a 4x4 with factory air ride but completely stock suspension .

The internet of course had conflicting information on what size tire (that wasn't just the stock size) would fit. Figured heck with it, I'll just trim a little if needed.

But a 285/55/22 , which is 33 inches tall and 11.5 inches wide ( man I'm getting old, I remember when a 33" was considered a "big" tire), fits just fine with no rubbing lock to lock . Haven't really taken it offroad to see if they rub when the suspension is flexed, but in all reality, the stock suspension doesn't really flex a bunch so i doubt it'll be an issue.

You probably could have gone with a 305/45x22 tire, as well.

Ops, good catch, made a typo, they are 285/50 not 55.

Still a 33 x 11.50 or at least those numbers are on the sidewall too (also visible in the pic, just to the right side of the metric tire size numbers)

They’re Nitto recon grapplers, which is their normal all terrain style tire.
