Steering wheel badge (Tahoe)

I don't like the gold bowtie. I think it's gaudy. I am not really sure I understand the plasti-dip process. Is this something I could do to the bowtie on the steering wheel? I think it's the last gold bowtie I have left. Any other ideas appreciated.

You can plastidip pretty much anything. I was thinking of plastidipping my steering wheel emblem too. I just do not know how hard it would be to remove the overspray around the emblem. I would worry about the smell of the plastidip fumes in the car.
