Well, only if that is the problem, IMHO. If it ain't broke... then no. There are a few things I fix on the "recommend" schedule(the timing belt), but no, most of them I repair when I have to. I still wonder if you should go buy a new gas cap? Sure it is a long shot, but there is no down side if all the "mechanics" are even scratching their heads, right? I wish I had something more concrete to help you with. Keep me posted. Think about asking fiatdale. He has a gorgeous Tahoe and seems knowledge and willing to help. Good luck b2b!Update for you guys:
The thing apparently runs great...They had it fail twice but both times was off the diagnostics reader. The mechanic isn't sure what it is.
I am completely clueless on this. If anyone has suggestions please share.
I have not replaced the fuel pump but he thinks that could be a potential cause. It's at 91k miles, so should probably get done right?
