Service Engine Soon

On my way home today my service engine soon light came on. All gauges were good so I drove home about 100 miles with no problems. If I use a diagnostic tool wilI I be able to pull a code telling me what service is needed. Things like oil, filters, etc. I stay on top of so I am confused as to what it may be. Any suggestions or advice?

If your service engine light came on, it is likely more serious than a filter or oil change. Either use a scanner or stop by autozone/napa/etc and have them read the code(s). Post them back on here and someone will try to help you diagnose.

Thanks guys. I'll pull the codes tomorrow and post them. As I said it was the service engine soon. I was assuming service engine soon was not the same a check engine light(CEL)

OK looks like a bad knock sensor. Replacement looks straight forward and not difficult. Anyone want to give some advice on replacement?
