Hello,

Im in the market for some new rims and tires

What is known to be the smoothest combo for rim size and tires

for a 02 Tahoe and what is the right ride height?

would it be all stock?

keep in mind I live in NYC and I know nothing here is gonna be smooth her but

I got some 20's now and dont like it that much its a bit shaky on un even ground

I want to get her a bit stiffer also

thanks

In most cases, a 20" wheel will net a smaller sidewall giving a more rigid ride.

I would suggest 16-18" wheel with a 31-32" tire. Too much sidewall and you will have more sidewall flex when turning giving a "slushy" feel.

No one can say what is the right/wrong or "best" set up due to everyones opinion being different.

I would say the "shakeyness" is due to tires being out of balance or possibly bad ball joints, tie rod ends etc.

Don't forget about shocks. You can have amazing tires but with bad shocks, the ride will be horrible. A lot of people recommend the bilsteins. KYB is a good brand as well.

I just put new bilsteins and the ride did improve, I know the left ball joint or tie rod has a very tiny bit of play but nothing major, I think im gonna go with some nice 18" with prob a 32

thanks Justin

I'd also recommend the energy suspension poly urethane sway bar bushings and end links. You can get both front and back for about $65 shipped. Really helped mine lose the body roll.
