Replacing your old stained factory carpets

Auto Custom CarpetsSo I’m fairly new to the forum, but I’ve been a fan of OBS Chevys for my entire life. I’ve always wanted a 2-door but wasn’t able to afford one until around 2001 when I got my 1st 1996 2-door LT Tahoe. It had gray leather and horrible stained carpet. Sold it in haste after the second transmission rebuild in 2004. Didn’t get another until 2019 when my wife found it on FB marketplace. Now I have the means and the patience to do all the things I wanted to when I was younger but was way too young and broke to accomplish. My new 2-door had tan and stained carpet. I replaced it all last year. One project begets another so while I had everything out, I installed kilmat sound deadening front to back. The carpet was purchased through Auto Custom Carpets based out of MO but has a factory here in Alabama. They sent samples so I could pick the correct shade which was a lot more difficult than I had expected. I got front, rear, and floor mats from them with the upgraded backing. It’s like having a 2024 truck in a much classier 1995.

That’s best in class carpet upgrade. Nice work.

For sure it’s a different perspective having means and the time to do it right. I’m 57 working on a Tahoe I’ve had 22 years now. Along the way I was *mostly* good to it, especially with fluid changes and tune-ups but should have done more for interior suspension.

Nice looking interior! I've used ACC carpet in the past. Top notch. Did the sound mat make a big difference?
