Hello all,
I’m brand new to the forum, and I just purchased a 2013 Tahoe LT. I noticed this missing piece to the right of the license plate on the rear lift gate and was seeing if anyone knew what this was for. I thought it may be for a reverse camera that goes to the rear view mirror (there is a wiring harness attached to it), but I can’t find any camera that is rounded like that. Can anyone help me figure out what this is? Thank you.

Welcome to TYF from Colorado, the new California!

FWIW it looks to me like it's the liftgate or window release button that's missing.

That button was missing on our past 08 and current 09. It’s a dandy little shortcut to the cargo area if you know it’s there.

You can order a replacement off the internet for around $10. It can be coaxed out with a pair of needle nose. The key trick is DO NOT let the harness connector get pulled back up inside the tailgate cavity or you’ll be fishing it out or dismantling it.
