After a heavy rain, my rear carpet is wet in both corners
of the cargo area. Any thoughts, tips? Thanks.

mine is the same way. I believe it is just from the weather stripping on the hatch leaking. either that, or it is coming in from under the tailgate while I drive.

Sounds like you need to replace weather stripping...

Rather than fix the leak that's causing it to get wet??

Upper liftgate glass weatherstrip. Dealer p/n is 15983928. Retail is around $100.

no im gonna fix the leak too but thats not the only point, its because i treat the back of my hoe as a pickup so i might as well make it durable too, its so dirty back there

I agree with the bed lining of it since it's being used in the fashion. Good to hear that you'll fix the leak issue as well. I got the impression you were just ignoring that aspect :)

Thank for the replies, I'm going to look into the weatherstrip. Spray-in in the back is a great idea.

Realistic solution...

I'm new to this site, but if you use your truck like a real truck, consider replacing the cargo area carpet with a molded vinyl floor covering instead of trying to rig a diamond plate "bed" cover (which would probably lead to rust underneath eventually, especially if the weather stripping doesn't fix your leak issue). I have the same leak/wet carpet/mold issue with my Yukon (I have barn doors and the weather stripping replacement did not fix my leak). I'm actually planning on replacing all the carpet in my vehicle with the molded vinyl floor cover. Here's a link I just found with a quick Google search... http://www.ap23.com/jcwhitney/produ...rand=acc&PHPSESSID=8q37ikkb3ed6tqf588pci1pnb1

From this link they show it posible to just replace the cargo area as well, which may be your best bet, and it won't look rigged.

Mine was leaking around the side rear window, the calking wasn't installed peoperly and water was running in around the top of the window, across the headliner and down the rear molding to the carpet. Get inside on a nice day and have someone spray the back with a hose. Should see / hear the water coming in somewhere. Lotsa Luck!
