Where is the best location in the firewall to run the power wire from the battery for an aftermarket amp in an 09 Tahoe?

There's a video on YT about running it through a grommet on the low passenger side. I'm about to do this also so I'd be interested in other opinions. Also, at the battery there is a terminal point to tie into at the battery itself and also one about a foot back on the firewall. that one is fused though. What would be a better tie-in? At the firewall is cleaner.

I ran my power cable down the driver's side. There's a grommet with lots of wiring going through it behind the brake pedal (up high under the dash). I taped my wire to a metal coat hanger (unfolded) and pushed/pulled it through the grommet.

Thats how I did mine too. I used a special side post terminal to connect amp power wire to battery.

I was crawling under there today looking for a spot. there really isn't anything other than that big wire loom. The grommet is pretty rugged and taped engine side. Were you able to maintain a good seal after pushing the power cable through? Then there's the other small grommet just above that. The cable that goes through there is stiff like a hood release or something.

Still trying to weigh my options.

I only ran 8 gauge wire, so it sealed up reasonably well for me. I haven't had any leaks or anything.

Thank you for everyone's input. I am new to this forum and I appreciate the help as I just purchased my Tahoe a month ago. I ended up running the power cable through the passenger side fender and through the boot in the door. Super easy to do and it works great. I will add photos when I get a chance. Thanks again.
