I have been performing a replacement of my pitman arm and idle arm on my 99 Tahoe and am trying to figure out if I really need a Steering Linkage Installer to properly seat the ball stud to the stearing relay rod? What is this tool for? Doesn't the nut do the same thing?

Steering linka.. WTF? No. :) You'll need a pickle fork and a hammer to smash them apart, and a wrench to get them back together. Too easy. I believe the Pitman arm has a crown nut, I couldn't get the the cotter pin all the way back in, so I only put one half of the pin through, with the other half going over the nut and bolt.
