I'm a new member and just picked up a 2000 Yukon XL 4wd SLT. It's black with the natural tan interior. I really wanted gray, but oh well. It just reminds me so much of my 1994 Caprice 9C1/LT1 I had back in 1997! lol. I bought it as a daily driver / beater - since I have a '08 G8 GT that gets my mod money! :)

Anyhow, it has almost 142k miles on it, but this thing runs and drives great. It was very well taken care of before being traded at Niello BMW here in Sacramento. The paint shines great with only a few dings, brakes are good, transmissions shifts nice, and the motor runs perfect without any odd noises. It has the quad seating with rear air, and I cannot get over how well the A/C works in this thing. I've hauled about 10 people around now and most of them said it has the best A/C of any vehicle. Oh it has zero mods, 100% stock which is what I wanted. No paint work either which is pretty rare for a vehicle that is 9 years old. Most people think it has like 60k miles on it. Paid $6,600 out here in CA and I think that was a pretty fair price.

I have a few mods planned, but mostly it's just fixing the things that are not quite right. I'm going to add the Escalade cluster, a better headunit, and maybe a CAI. The things I need to fix are the parking brake (new PB shoes), leather front seats (Ebay replace), and replace the steering box and steering linkage to tighten things up (all new GM). I adjusted the steering box tonight and that may hold me over, but the thing is so nice that there are only a few little things to make it drive almost like new. Oh and I'm going to install a set of Bilsteins - ordering those tomorrow since the shocks look original and it doesn't feel quite right on the freeway from a damping standpoint.

It had a "Service 4wd" fault that was intermittent after buying it a few days ago, but I soldered the connectors on the 4wd control switch and that problem is fixed. Got a flat tire the very day after buying it, that was sweet. I would have preferred a 2003+, but decided to save some cash since it was just a DD.

Anyhow, I work for ALLDATA so I still have to dig through the TSBs to see if there are any obvious fixes the Yukon needs. Anyhow, just figured I'd say what's up.
