NOOB iphone-GPS-sub questions, help!

Hi all,
I just got into an 05 denali XL, have hard wired V1 into mirror and am looking to hard wire my Garmin over the weekend. I've got the Bose unit with XM. Looking for best way to integrate iphone, would love to have it work with wheel buttons/ onstar mic...or cheap and easy- would the install in the back of the HU whine if iphone were also charging off lighter? Can I wire a back-up cam to factory HU instead of NAV? Thinking of fabricating a sub box/ console/ inverter to fit between middle seats...thoughts for power and audio tap? Onstar virtually useless but full of great hardware, any hacks?

iPhone - handsfree, search for BlueStar. There is a group buy going on here at the forum. Seems slicks.

I use an adaptor for my iPhone/iPod(music) that integrates with teh factory HU. It can be finicky but works ok. You can use steering wheel controls for Forward/Back songs within playlist.
