need help with 95 tahoe ac

Sorry if there's already a thread about this my phone won't let me type in the search box I'm kinda stumped Ihave a 95 Tahoe lt 4x4 the acdidn't have a charge on it so I picked up a couple cabs of r134 and started charging itI couldn't hearitwith theenginerunning but found a leak wheresomeonestripped the ac pressure switch on the accumulator finally go a hold of one of those replaceditand doing everything according to directions on the can stillthe compressor won't kick on so I looked around online and tried to jump the low side pressure switch with a piece of wire to try to get it just to kick on still nothing checked the fuses and checked for leaks I'm all good on those so any help would be great as to what other things I could do or look into ...thanks ahead of time also it has a new compressor and everything else ( hoses valves) looks fairly new

Where the switch screws in is a schrader valve so when you un-screw it only a tad bit of the refrigerant leaked out it wasn't open for any period of time there's no way for it to stay open unless you have something to keep it open.

and this was on the condenser? what color of body did the switch have and what was the wire colors as well. the location as you describe it plays no direct role in the compressor action.

http://napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=TEM207654_0199048209 ... this part here which is an a/c clutch cycling switch it has a green wire and an orange wire going to it and there's a threaded schrader valve coming off of the accumulator on the right hand side where that part screws onto and what from what I've read that part^^ is the low side pressure switch the high side pressure switch is actually on the compressor

have you tried diagnosing the cycling switch on the accumulator?

Ok my mistake I don't know why I keep wanting to call the accumulator the condenser but yes I tried using jumper wire on the cycling switch that's attached to the accumulator and still nothing

Update: I jumped the compressor from the battery and it kicked on so now I know that its working no I'm guessing its something in the wiring does anyone know where I can direct my attention to next. do the climate control switches or the ac button go bad or are they known to go bad?

Not really in regards to the compressor control. It is must commonly a pressure switch or freon level. You did try the low pressure cutoff or no? You can test for volts from the control head. Looks for volts at the green wire on the end of the online connector on the back.

Well found the problem the high pressure switch connector terminals were loose so they weren't making contact with the pins so its all good now thanks for all the input
