I have a 2007 Yukon SLT without NAV, Bluetooth, or backup camera. I am looking for some ideas on which in dash unit to be looking for. I am very mechanical, but don't have a clue when it comes to audio/ electronics. I will be doing a lot more driving for work and want to have navigation system with bluetooth installed while maintaing my steering wheel controls if possible. Back up camera would be a benefit, but not necessary. Will this effect my on star? I have read some of the other posts about pac OS4, but not sure what this does. I dont mind spending the money, but want to do this right the first time. thanks

:welcome: Scott!

Well, there is always the OEM unit. That's probably the easiest option, but the system lacks in the navigation department big time. The interface is nothing special either, but with a lock pick installed the system is a little more usable. The benefit here is that it will be entirely "plug and play", will require very little programming, and obviously (in my opinion) fits the "fit and finish" of the console the best.

If you want something with better navigation, and an interface that looks a lot better I would look somewhere else. There are plenty of options out there. I am sure you will get as many different suggestions as replies to this thread. That being said, if navigation is your decision point, I would look for a unit with built in Garmin or Tom Tom GPS software. These are some of the best, and most updated GPS softwares available.

I am sure some other members can offer some opinions here as to what systems seem to be the best. I currently have OEM navigation, so I am not much help here. Recently, a newer member (woolbrig) installed a Pioneer system. Maybe you want to give this thread HERE a read, and ask him a few questions. There are also plenty of other threads on the forum to read about the numerous navigation unit installs. Feel free to use the search function to look those up.

I hope that helps to get you started! I am certain some other members can chime in and offer some more opinions on the matter at hand. Good luck! :Handshake:
