Defenders are the only other choice when you have 24's. Albeit a very solid choice. I would never put the Alenza's on again....
Agreed on the alenza. Bought my 2006 Denali from the same dealer that sold it new after it took it back as a trade in from its previous owner and the dealer put brand new alenzas on the stock 17s and I absolutely hated them. Won’t ever go back to those lol.

He's consistently hated them for a while now. Has always said they're terrible in the rain (and maybe snow, too). I haven't found them to be terrible at all. Nonetheless, I'll be going to something else when I get new tires.

How are the Michelin Defenders LTX? Have a 2024 Yukon Denali w/ air ride, not impressed with the alenzas anymore. Had alenzas on my 07 tahoe and the 2017 Denali but the new alenzas aren't that great. How are the defenders for wear, noise, wet traction?
Had them on my previous ride 2010 Yukon XL. Great tire, but I used them for summer only. Bridgestone Blizzaks for the winter.

They sucked cornering up and down the mountain roads. Way too soft. They had zero traction in the small amount of snow that we got that first winter that I’d owned the truck. It was not fun trying to drive. Constantly spinning out. And then I had to replace them because my sway bar end links, and pitman arm were no good which sent alignment totally out of whack. and my front tires wore down to steel belts within a couple months. That’s not the tires fault but once I had that sorted I scored my first set of Michelin LTX A/T2s, from the shop that did the alignment that were just barely used. Got them dirt cheap. They were lightyears better than the Bridgestones and never had a reason to look back.

I am another Michelin fan.
I have had the Defender LTX on several previous trucks and SUV’s and they roll smooth, wear even and perform well even after 50k miles.
Made a night/day difference on my wife’s Honda Element and my previous 2014 2500 Van. Before the Michelins that Honda Element would go through tires at 30k and now she has over 30k on them and they look like they were just installed.

Just put a set of 275/50/22 on my 2024 Tahoe and they are noticeably smoother and quieter than the stock Bridgestone Allenza that came with all the new Tahoes.

My OEM Bridgestone's are at half life. 275-22's. Terrible in the snow. Otherwise I love them. Rain is good, 100+ MPH is good. Highway is nice ride. But snow. I get stuck. 2023 Escalade. Not wanting to go to a full AT tire, due to noise and ride quality.

You can’t take that second pic of your truck with the wheel cut so that you can’t see your aftermarket rims. Come on. We need a better side shot!

If my only focus about riding comfort (and noise), would the Alenzas be better than LTX over road cracks, pot holes, etc?

No snow/mountains here. OEM continental LX20 (20" wheel) feels bit rough and swinging between Alenza AS Ulta and LTX MS2

No!
I am in East Central coastal Florida and our roads are pretty good, flat and smooth but the Michelins are a lot smoother and quieter than the Allenzas.
We do have manhole covers, similar to potholes and hitting them is smoother than the Allenzas.

You are absolutely right!
Fuel Fusion Forged Mutiny 22”x9” +30mm offset
Satin black with metallic bronze rim
I was shopping for months looking to replace the original shiny silver rims that came with the High Country trim.

Even if I lived off the mountain and only drove on dry smooth roads I still wouldn’t put Bridgestones on my rig. There’s a reason they’ve been nicknamed brickstones. They just suck all around. lol. Go with the Michelins you won’t be disappointed.

If you think the old Alenzas were great, you will be blown away by the Defenders. The old Alenzas were terrible, awful tires. I actually think the new ones are better but still not up to Michelin standards.

Absolutely. Just one instance of hydroplaning at about 75 miles an hour and tires are about 80% new. Told me all I need to know about Bridgestone's. You are taking your life into your own hands if you are buying Alenza's. I'll get rid of these as soon as I can get about 20,000 miles out of them. Just to say I got a little bit of good out of them. Did the same on my 21 and will on the 25 also.

75 MPH in the rain is why you see cars off the road every time it rains.. I tell my kids, SLOW DOWN IN THE RAIN.

Is it worth to switch from my brand new OEM continental LX20 to Defenders? Will there be significant improvement on comfort/road noise?
