So..... After all this discussion...... Is an '08 ( rotor is 1 inch larger diameter ), make a noticeable improvement in stopping power? Or an '05 Powerstop setup better enough?
( I am not planning to tow much )

Yes i did this on my 01 xl and the 08 swap is worth it. i noticed a huge difference , i used powerstop pads and raybestos rotors.

I do have OEM 17" wheels.
So the '08 install was a straight bolt on?
( My definitive question)

( thanks soulsea)

thanks !!

I'm going to do a search for SS brake lines....

(update).... I checked out Russell Performance for S.S. brake lines.

They do have a set for my 2005 YukonXL. But, they mention not for -
" Rear Active Brake Control". Huh? What's that??

I read it's an extra line that the kit doesn't include. There's a member on her selling fronts and rears new--except for that 1 line you'd need. Good price too.

Check for RPO JL4. It's the difference between a 5 and 6 line kit.
