so i have an '09 tahoe with the automatic lift gate. whenever it opens and closes, the lower left corner rubs on the inside of the bumper which is causing some scratches in the paint. there is a noticeably larger gap between the lift gate and the passenger tail light than the lift gate and the driver's side light...

what would be the best way to re-align the liftgate? should i loosen and try shift the bumper? should i loosen the mounting bolts at the hinge and try to shift it?

.....or am i the only one with this issue? :emotions122:

thanks in advance!

i might try that route out... i'm the second owner though, and she's got 45k on the odometer now... not sure if that's covered or not.

i'm also starting to be suspicious that the clear carfax wasn't entirely accurate... the rear passenger side below the window is a bit different: there's no orange peel in the paint. it's all smooth, whereas the rest of the truck has some orange peel.

thanks!

:)

have a couple local body shop's look at the paint job, if it been repainted and not on carfax go back were you brought it , and let them xplain ? 1. statement from body shop's, 2. dealership, 3.carfax, 4. chevrolet assistance center 1-800-222-1020 = report the dealership, 5. the BBB. good luck

Papaman,
I would definitely take the Tahoe to your local dealer. They will be able to repair this issue for you. It sounds like you are within years for your warranty but may be out by miles. Some dealers may still work with you. Just explain your story. Let us know what you find out.
