Searching for an 05 or 06 Tahoe, this one has low mileage not sure if the rust is a dealbreaker. Looks to be not much on the frame itself. Exterior is fantastic, was the “payment” to a local dealer as the seller couldn’t afford whatever work was done to other vehicle. Asking 7500. If anybody has any advice I would greatly appreciate it

looks to me like they "tried" to hide the visible rust from the outside with the black coating, your going to be in the market for new brake lines at minimum, here in Cali or basically anywhere on the west coast we have no rust vehicles at all unless they were parked at the beach everyday. the only thing that eats metal like that over here is fertilizer.
It might be worthwhile to expand your search area and try to find one outside of the rust belt then fly in and drive it home, many dealers will be happy to send you pictures of the bottom or tell you if it has rust or not if you ask. Maybe try to find one from Florida or one of the southern states.

Appreciate the quick reply. Seller was trying to explain the rust isn’t on the frame? Nonsense right?

I'd pass on that. My '07 with 222k on it here in Missouri doesn't have near that level of rust under it. You should be able to find a much nicer example somewhere else.

frame rust for sure, I wouldn't spend that kind of money for that even with low miles, you will have a hell of time working on it, may even be borderline unsafe, it needs the diff cover, probably rear brake parts, brake lines, and no telling what else

PASS!

I bought a Jeep Cherokee like that and the problems never ended, brake lines, frozen calipers, the computer ECM was even corroded, weird noises, etc.

It was disclosed as a Canadian vehicle and I thought nothing of it, as I lived in Michigan for 30 years, but that rust can just create a ton of headaches. NEVER AGAIN!
