I had the same issue. After a decade plus of surfing in FL and Hawaii my interior looked like a grenade went off in it. People would actually wipe my seats with their hands before sitting on them.....after I had cleaned them. All the cushions were collapsed and offered no support.

After a little thought I decided to invest in the Katskins line. Probably a good choice. A little pricey, I had the shop do a bunch of additional work on top of the interior so that added to the tab.

But the shop completely rebuilt the original seats. New cushions and foam and all the support is back like new. And you can do just about any combo one can conceive. I was blown away when picked it up.....did new carpet and overhead liner. Had them take the nets out the back of the front seats and did tight pockets. Got that new car smell back!

They make pre fab cutouts for tahoes so that brings the price down a bunch.

Cheers!

Sorry about the late response.....I just saw this thread come back up.

In regards to the price....I honestly don't recall because I was doing a bunch of seperate upgrades a the time.

I know the price on Katskins varies by what combos and patterns you choose. And its virtually unlimited. I was going to do suede on the inserts but the dude running the shop talked me out of it. It was more money for suede so I beleived him....something about longterm wear and tear.

But I want to say for that combo and stitching it was around 2 grr. But that also included a completly new carpet and headliner. Kat skins makes a pre cut mold for the 2 door so that cuts the price like in half.

You can locate an installer from the katskins website.

Great write-up! I'll definitely be hitting up the folks at Katzkin and/or the shop for a quote. I'm curious about the upholstery on your door in the picture - I'm guessing that was done in the shop also, or was that something you added aftermarket yourself? How much did it cost, etc?

I just started another thread about an upholstery piece to cover over that part of my door panel because it's old and stained. Also, while we're on the topic of seats... if anyone knows where I can buy new captains chairs as in the following video, please let me know. They look amazing, just like the ones pictured:

Actually I believe the door upholstery covers are included in the kit. The backseats have a similar pattern as the front with darker areas being in the middle. I opted for heavy black stitching which is difficult to see in the pic.

I really want to do the steering wheel, but it's pretty pricey. There's a company that will sell you a newly covered wheel for cheaper. They have an eBay store as well.

That's going on the back burner for a while as I'm putting a new engine in and redoing the front end.
