I have seen a lot of questions about how to get amp wiring through the firewall on the Tahoe. All the videos I doing glossed over it or were for a pickup. This is a 2022 Tahoe, your vehicle may vary.
I just went out and figured it out myself. Here's what I discovered:
You can find the firewall wiring grommet on passenger side underneath the cowl, behind the battery. It's a tight fit to get your hands in there. I suggest a step ladder and disconnecting the battery so you don't accidentally zap yourself.
I cut a line in the auxiliary grommet with a scalpel. I then rammed my grabber tool through the hole (pictured above). Fish tape would have been MUCH more effective but I couldn't find it today. I pushed and pulled the power line through with the help of my 6 year old.
In order to access it from the passenger footwell I removed a bunch of trim. You may be able to get away with just dropping the felt cover and pulling out the still trim.
I then squirreled the cable along the sill with the other major seat wiring. Again, this may be easier with a fiberglass rod or fish tape.
Then I put it all back together, and an extra screw materialized. Lucky me. Took it back apart, and still couldn't find where the screw had been. I wish you better luck. You probably don't have to unscrew anything to do this. Just use a trim tool to pull out one felt trim fastener and the footwell. That should get you access to the firewall grommet and start you along the path to wiring the sill.
I ran out of light before I could finish running it all the way.
