So as I was replacing my door handles last night, I put everything back together as it was when I took it off. Now my driver's door will not open. I took it to a friend whose a mechanic and he said that both inside and outside handles are working the way they're supposed to but the actual lock mechanism is broken. Anyone run into a problem like this?

I had something like that happen when I removed my door panel to fix the broken door well in my driver's door panel. There's this little piece that fell out when I popped the panel, and I had a hard time figuring out where it came from. It's a plastic piece with two slots that fit over pins around the manual door lock actuator. It can only go in one way. I think it's a bracket that receives one of the door panel screws if I remember right. Check your manual door actuator rod to make sure it's in properly located in the little grooved plastic pieces, too.
