Seems to me that it has to get quite dark before they switch on automatically..... Any way to adjust so they come on a little earlier?

you could try tinting the sun sensor a little bit with something, might have to experiment a little to get the desired result because that sensor also affects how the hvac works.

I think I will just put it on a list for its 1st dealer visit, whenever that may be, and see what they say about it...
