First tow with LZ0 Yukon

I just towed my 3500 pound travel trailer with my 2025 Yukon LZ0 from Phoenix AZ to Leadville CO via Payson AZ over the Mogollon Rim, Gallup NM, Cortez CO, Pagosa Springs CO over Wolf Creek Pass (11,000 feet and 8 miles up) to Leadville CO and the whole trip averaged 22 MPG! My 22 Yukon 5.3 was lucky to get 11-12 MPG on the same trip. Spent a total of $111 for fuel, last year was about $250 for the 5.3. That "Baby Max" is a brute for hill climbing and pulls way better than the 5.3 on the grades, I literally could maintain any speed I wanted. Needless to say I am very happy with the LZ0! Also used Super Cruise about 75% of the trip, worked great on all the two lane roads.

Just returned from the round trip from Phoenix to Leadville CO with a total of 1500 miles and had a lot of wind on the return trip, total MPG for the trip was 22 MPG and used two 2.5 gal jugs of DEF for the 1500 miles towing my 3500 pound travel trailer. One thing I don't like is the DEF gauge as it does not seem to move when driving but changes when stopped and restarted which to me is weird. I will be driving and the gauge will show 1/8 used and stay there for several hundred miles and then stop for the night and next morning it might show 3/4 or 1/2 left. Also the factory gauge for the MPG does not coincide with the OBD Fusion calculations nor the actual miles traveled and actual gallons of diesel used. The OBD Fusion and the actual gallons used are very close together which was the 22 MPG I got. The factory gauge said I got 18 MPG! GM needs to get the software working correctly! All in All, great trip and love the "Baby Max" and the "SuperCruise"!

Weird I’ve had my 2024 Yukon XL for 10,000 miles and every single tank I have filled up the on board calculator has been accurate within 1-2% every time (I hand calculate every tank). Not exaggerating. Though I could see towing in conjunction with mountain passes making it harder.
