Engine Light is on...

Hi, I'm new to this forum... I have an '06 Tahoe with just over 66k miles on it & had it hooked up to see why my service engine light is on... It popped the code P0449... Is this covered under the federal regulation that emissions is covered to 8yrs/80k miles?

Evap Vent Solenoid. From what I have heard, it will be hit or miss as to whether or not the dealer will cover it, but it is worth a shot! Only a $40 part.

My truck has 61k on it and I just replaced mine, my engine light came on as well. I believe there is a rear part as well as a front, the other will go out soon if it has not already so replace both while you are at it if it is indeed the same part.
