A bracket is a bracket. I'm planning on running duals soon, probably getting the bracket from mechman or dc power and i believe for both the bracket is 300ish alone, but that's a good deal for the bracket and the alt. You should get it and let us know how it goes.

How much output do you need from the alt. You can get one that puts out 300 itself. Iraggi has there bracket that can put up to 4 on our cars for about 420 shipped

imnot shore the output i run about 2700 watts of just system

A 2700 Watt system needs 225A from the alternator (2700Watt/12V=225A). Nevermind all the other electrical load that the car draws. So add 225 on to the top of the rating of the stock alternator.

They don't just make a high output alt for these trucks? Or do you need two to run two batteries?

make sure you get that amperage at idle number because the alternator has an idle rating and a running rating

you can also change out the alternator and get a bigger one from that seller if ya want, also check the difference betweed the two series they have dominator and something altenure or whatever

I've got the dual 260a kit from DC Power and it is a beast. 520a of current and nearly 400 of that at idle. Cost was not bad, if I remember right it was on sale for around $800 for the bracket and two alts of if you just wanted one and the bracket it would be quite a bit less.

What ever kit you decide to do make sure you use a relay to excite the second alt not just tap into the wire on the original harness or you will throw a code and the charge light on the dash will stay on.
