ummm looks like uneven coats for 1 and very rough.. (in the pictures) you have to stay steady and keep a wet seam. 2 yes they need clear.. Looks about right to me.

I would have gone to a paint store and had them color match and bought clear. Bought a harbor freight $20 gun and sprayed them.. Works like a charm

I really have no idea what I'm talking about but could you get them wet to simulate them being cleared to see if they match a little better?? Sounds dumb after reading it but hey, what's a little water going to hurt?

I always get my touch up paint from paintscratch.com. If there are variations in the colors he'll mix the right one according to your VIN.

And yes, you need clear for a correct color match.

Not to sound cruel but you get what you pay for, in this case you got a $15 paint job. To get it matched correctly you need to have a paint store mix you a pint and shoot them or take them and have someone else do it

makes me think twice about spraying a few odds and ends on mine with "color matched" spray paint... Ive never had a problem before but those results are not what i would be looking for...

I"m betting the color variation is becasue you didn;t start with the same basecoat color.

those are black, and I think the bodies are white primer.
thus you get a lot darker color.
with a white part you;d have been fine, or a white primer/first coat.
