Anyone else have this problem? The DIC illumination and all gauges are on but the gear selection is very dim at times.

Very common issue. You need to reflow the solder on it.

If you go to the 04 section maybe there are directions on exactly how to do the repair. You may also try a Google search and see if there is a youtube for the repair.
