Yes it will fit, please use the SEARCH button and all your questions will be answered. Also Google is a wealth of knowledge.

I really do love this forum out of all the one's I am via post count.
I don't mean to offend anyone here in the boards.

You are on the wrong forum to ask about LS into OBS Swaps. To my knowledge NO ONE HERE has done it successfully and there are two Members here currently swapping them in. One of them is me.

You can reference my build thread for Part numbers and explanations. I will not write a how-to b/c there are a few good ones out there.

FYI it is not going to be cheap...

How many more threads will you make about motors? You have like 4 or 5 right now, not including this one. If you want actual help, you need to stop making a ton of random threads about the same topic. People get sick of the same people, posting the same questions, in the same types of threads over and over again

Yes, an LS1 can be swapped in. But for the price, I'd swap in a LM7 or LQ4. Considering they are very similar to a LS motor, parts are interchangeable and Vortec's (LM7/LQ4) are more common in junk/salvage yards. And your horsepower and torque numbers are similar between LS and Vortec motors

Check out some of the larger GM forums for more information (Performance Trucks.net, GMFullsize.com, LS1tech.com, and LS1truck.com)

Side note. Munky, how did that LS swap in a 240sx go for you? I've always wanted to do something like that myself. Any pictures or information on it? Build thread maybe?

It went smooth as butter believe it or not. There is a few companies that make a direct bolt in mount kit for it. I don't have a build thread for it because the current configuration isn't quite complete yet. I do have some teaser pics and a quick video of the old car. Yes this is my second 240sx with the LS1 in it.

This is the old car when I first got it. Took it right out and did some highway pulls with a buddy of mine.

Well, if you want my opinion, I'd go with the LQ4. This is based on a tech article I read somewhere. Apparently the LQ4 ports are opened a little more and allows for more airflow. So, if you go with the LS1 and want more power just pnp the heads. Based on my very limited knowledge (and I'm being very serious when I say that), they're all pretty much the same. Case in point, the only real difference between the LS1 and LS6 are the heads.

So, here's my question. Why a LS1 and not a LS6?

That's to both Munky and 99 denali.

I found an ls1 for $2500 with harness n all a ls6 would b like $5000

^^^that right there. LS1's can be had for very cheap and are a dime a dozen if you know where to look. I got my motor in the original 240sx (the older red one in the video) so I couldn't complain. I have however swapped to LS6 heads, intake manifold and cam. :waytogo:

Another option is a 5.3.
Granted youre not getting the cubes but, like all LS based motors, they are also very capable motors and can be had for a fraction of the cost of an LS1/6 or 6 liter. I have seen complete motors with warranty sell for between 3/500.
