Cleaning Winter Dirty Wheels

So I am wondering how often all yous guys that live in the snowy areas, clean the wheels on your rigs. We have a good amount of snow on the ground now, and I know they laid down deicer on the roads before it snowed, plus gravel and whatever else. I have Polished aluminum Stock LTZ wheels and was wondering if I need to worry about this on a daily/weekly/monthy type basis..

And if I do need to clean them often, where do you do it.. Do you just use some windex or whatever in the garage and just clean the wheels and thats it??

Also does anyone actually take their tires off the rig to clean them (for a real good cleaning)? That would be more of a spring cleaning if anything..

I don't think I ever did anything out of normal during a car wash in the winter. I just would go to a coin-op and just use the pressure washer (water is hot) to get all the snow and crap off of the car, wheels, stuck in the rear bumper, etc.

Somehow I accumulate more snow in the rear bumper than anywhere else in the whole car...

A good wheel cleaner also helps like sonax or p21, although what ever you use check to make sure its safe for polished wheels

simple green and a normal car sponge

u have a clear coat on ur wheels. reg wash and put a coat of wax will help keep clean

Poor Boys also makes a good wheel sealant that you can put on after you wash them. It will keep brake dust and road grime from sticking as much. You can use it on any wheel type according to their site.
