I understand where high cv angles are bad but what exactly can break? Te joint it's self or the boot or something else? How bad is it to have high angles while in 4wd going about 20 at the most? (on sand) if it matters. I'll post pics of my angles and what I drive in later

Correct, the joints are only rated for something like a 30* angle or close to that.

looks like my ball joints are dry rotted (bottom) and pulled (top) and have been for a little while.. any of you done a ball joint flip? i dont really see how that will help with the anything but ive heard about it. looks like would give the camber a hard time even after an alignment.

CV angles and ball joints. i squeezed the bottom one thats why there is fresh grease (dumb)


uhhhh not sure how they got flipped... just imagine the angles in the other direction

angles look good. if the ball joint boots are not torn and you have no play in them. leave them be.

so whats the set-up? 3"bl cranked leaf/block out back and 33's? looks good to me! from your pic in your album. if you have some more pics of it at that level post em up I think thats all im gonna be able to do right now to the hoe!

remember the pic of the cv angle is upside down. if its fine at that angle then awesome! but my setup is a set of 3" T bar keys (probably just ford keys) and 3" blocks in the back. it sits on the droop stop in the front so it has a stiff ride and close to no down travel. monday i will be cutting and lowering them (pics to follow) so that will fix the ride. Body lift would probably be better if you dont mind the gap it will cause and it wont add to ground clearance. it sits on 33x12.50s on 15x10s with 4" BS ill put some more pics in the album tomorrow. thanks for the likes and help!

Those CVs don't look that bad, but if you say it is cranked 3" and on the stops that is horrible

Yeah that's going to get fixed soon. I'm just going to slice it am hammer it down a little so the Uca will move

I don't see how it's like that though. The angles should be worse since its on te droop stop but i guess they aren't
