I know its a silly post but I went on and pulled the trigger on an 18" Fi ssd sub and gonna get another one too, anyone running these subs? If so do they live up to the hype? I have box plans that comes out to 9.4cu tuned at 33hrz after sub/port/bracing displacement. The 2012 models are rated at 1000 watts rms and even though I havnt choosen an amp yet I know ill get one that'll send each sub 1000 watts power...considering an Alpine mrp-m1000.1d 1 per sub or a Hifonics Brutus 2400.1d for both, gonna upgrade the batt and do the big 3 this winter.

Alpine are good, say hell no to the hifonics. check out the sundown 2500.1 should be more than enough.

what about your alternator and no plans for more than 1 battery? amp is going to be starving for power and your going to have some serious voltage drop. i've got an older model dc power 230A alternator and 2 batts and my one 18 and 1750.1 would still drop some voltage.

Yes indeed, I plan to have a dual battery set up, big 3, and 200+ ALT...the sundown 2500.1 is a beast of an amp but i want something in the $300-$400 range with an amp that does rated or close to it..maybe a Crescendo Audio BC2000D($379), never heard one in person but ive never read a bad review about them..
