I have a 2005 Tahoe LT. So the a/c is not blowing cold air and the compressor itself is not turning on. My question is...is there a common problem with these? I worked with Honda for years and to this day they have issues with the a/c and its often the silly relay under the hood. Anything common with the Tahoe? I know there needs to be a certain amount of Freon in the system for the compressor to work, but I have no way of checking that. I will assume for now it is good on Freon so where to now? The a/c pressure switch or cycling swith? I wasn't sure if the switch is something people see go bad often.

The clutch cycling switch at the accumulator was a known weak spot. What I can't figure out is why you "ASSUME" the refrigerant pressure is good and system full. The first and most basic thing is to check refrigerant level/pressure. If you aren't going to do the basics, then posting in the right section is not going to help either.

2005 Tahoe a/c not blowing cold

Ok...apparently I posted in the wrong section the last time I tried to get some info so I will try again. 2005 Tahoe LT and the a/c stopped working. The compressor is not turning on. My mechanical skills are not all that great...I know what to do...I just don't know exactly how to do it in most cases. So, since I posted last I believe I have determined that the a/c is under pressure and has a full charge. I picked up a refill kit form the local parts store, and unless the compressor has to be running to determine if its full, I am gonna go with I think its full. Is there another way to check this? My real question is whats next? I assume I want to try to jump the compressor? Where do I do that at? I have a 3 wire connector at the compressor. A friend was over and he tried to jump it from the what I believe was the low pressure switch and not the switch at the compressor. Is there a way to jump it at the relay? Any help would be great. I am also having a ppower steering issue that I will create a separate thread for..

Thanks

You need some A/C pressure gauges, to see what's going on, those recharge kits at the auto stores are junk.
