25 Tahoe In Vehicle WIFI Issues

Recently I haven't been able to use my WIFI, when I go to the WIFI Hotspot icon on the infotainment screen everything is grayed out you cannot turn it on either there or on the mobile App.

Also the audio from the RSE is no longer an option on the SOURCES button under audio on the infotainment screen.

Contacted OnStar and after three troubleshooting sessions which included several system resets, battery disconnects, and vehicle resets, they finally told me to take it to the dealership. The dealership determined through troubleshooting the module that contains the radio and WIFI is bad so they ordered a new one which is on backorder for 3 weeks.

I just wanted to start a thread in case more model year 2025 Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade owners start having similar issues.

That’s strange for sure.

Not that it matters, but the WiFi hotspot has functioned great in my ‘21 (keep it active for the kids’ tablets). I know the newer models use the 5G version whereas mine is the older 4G paired with their Infotainment 3 touch screen.

You won’t like the fix… it’s time consuming

1. Have onstar send a reset
2. Hard wipe the informant (this is under reset)
3. Spend 30 minutes reconfiguring everything

This fuxed mine after neither the dealer nor onstar could..

Just wanted to add a conclusion to this thread. After getting the radio module replaced everything is working properly now. What's even more interesting is the system now allows for side view camera activation when turn signal is activated. When I bought the truck that wasn't an option so likely the module was bad from the factory. Just for others troubleshooting I lost RSE audio, WIFI, turn signal camera to name a few features that are tied to this module.

The module part number on work order is F- Module #85791706....retail pricing $1000 covered under warranty.

After my 2025 new Tahoe grace period Onstar seamlessly rolled me into my previous Tahoe's Onstar plan. Which did not include 'Hot-Spot'. After going through all the Onstar resets and reboots with no luck, took it to my dealer mechanic- said check my Onstar plan for 'Hot-Spot'.
Onstar moved me into a plan with 'Hot-Spot' for less than what I was paying.
