Hi All!

Pretty new to the forum and wanted to get some sage advice from everyone here.
Currently have a Magnaflow muffler and KN CAI on my 6.2 V8.
I'm looking to add a couple more mods and these are what I have narrowed down to:

BBK Shorty Headers 40480

Soler Performance 87mm/91mm Effective Bore Premium Throttle Body

Does anyone have experience with these parts? Are they worth the investment?
Thanks all and cheers!

And this might be a dumb question, but do performance headers make the car much louder?

Depends what you are putting after them. If stock setup, then probably not too much change.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and ask why you feel the need to do that on a new vehicle? OEM stuff usually lends rhe best driveability and longevity. It was tried, tested, and approved in a manner to get the most from it while delivering reliability.

The only real way to improve on it is to throw a lot of money at it with programming, deleting DFM (if it's even possible at this point), and then some aftermarket things like you've mentioned/done.

Growing up was always into muscle cars. Loved the sound, just the sound of a beefed up V6 or V8 back then. But had no money to do any of that to my cars. But I guess a simple answer to your question is for pure personal enjoyment!

Same for me on the Whipple...hard to get the green light from the wife lol. If you do the headers and/or TB...please share your findings as those would then be next on my list.

Modern cars are not engineered like they were 10+ years ago where slapping on exhaust and CAI got you 10% more power.

It may be more effective to talk budget and desired gains. I’d bet you get more bang for buck getting a 91-93 octane tune from a reputable shop than anything else.

Agreed with you on that. Not too concerned about wanting more power. Just want the truck sounding a certain way. That’s really all I care about.
Budget hovers around $5k max. Anything over wife will probably leave me lol

How’s the volume on the corsa? Able to have conversation inside without issues?

I know exactly what you mean. I lived through the golden muscle car era, but I could never afford one of them at the time, so I'd only watch them and drool. Even now, every Friday night in the summer there is a local parking lot rally where muscle car owners bring their cars for display and a few beers. I still drool while walking through that parking lot.

I run a Magnaflow muffler with dual tail pipes coming straight the back which has a much nicer sound than a Flowmaster. Use a Range Technology DFM delete is a must with a exhaust modification because of cylinders cutting out and engine drone! That's all I would do and you'll love it and depending on which exhaust you use it will be under 2 grand.
