Is there a way to reprogram the DRL’s to run in amber on a new 2023 Yukon Denali?

Not that i am aware. As far as i know, drl should be white. Amber indicates turning so even if not flashing, someone at a corner sees it is yellow may think you are turning and go and create a wreck.

Side note, the white drl looks badass imho, and differentiates from the turn indicator pretty good as well.

Appreciate the opinion, there’s just something about amber on black that does it for me. I know my TRX has that ability and most Fords that I’m aware of do as well. Anyone else out there got any insight?

There is no user programmable way to do this in the settings. Currently there is no known tune or anything either…the ECU and other vehicle systems are pretty locked down.

Seems like it probably is technically feasible, if you had access to the firmware on the BCM.

I'm currently researching. It looks like the Police package DRL control module will change them to amber as the police cars have amber continuously. If I get that confirmed I will post part #s and pics.

subbing. I been trying to figure this out for months. In the BMW world we have software that allows us to tweak module settings. I feel like this is just a minor adjustment in a lighting module somewhere.

Following this thread. I think it would be pretty cool, too.

When we rebuilt the headlights on my Yukon, we took them apart. There are no amber diodes. There are only white people there. It can be replaced, but only through complete disassembly of the headlights

I think we're talking about the turn-signal amber lights essentially acting as the DRLs (and not the headlights themselves)..

Oh, about the turn signals. I didn’t understand this right away, yes, I think they can be turned on permanently, I think you can even just disassemble the connector and take the wire that goes to the dimensions and put it on the turn signals. But I’m not sure that they will work in two modes, when it’s bright with DRLs and dim when the dimensions are on.

NICE! Wonder if my dealer would void my extended warranty over this?

The headlight warranty would most likely be voided; anything they can tie to the “mod”. All other stuff should be intact like powertrain.

If this module plugs into the ECM somehow and your ECM fries I could see them trying to void that coverage. I don’t see it going beyond that though.

Basically if a technician writes down “x customer installed module could have cause y failure” Y failure won’t be covered. If you get a good dealer a lot of that stuff may fly under the radar but a strict by the book shop would not.

I personally have a range AFM disabler an a catch can on my truck; if it ever goes into the dealer I remove both just to not have any potential problems.

If my ECM fried and the dealer say the range plugged into it 100% they would deny the warranty IMO. They’d write it up and send it to GM and they said denied due to aftermarket module plugged into ECM.
