2008 Tahoe LT ignition key issue

In my 2008 Tahoe LT when putting in the key to start the vehicle the key won't turn unless I turn the steering wheel to unlock it. Sometimes its real bad that I have to keep pressing the brakes and moving the steering wheel back and forth. Anyone ever come across this?

My 2008 the key that came with it was worn and I had to jiggle the key around in the cylinder sometimes before I could unlock it. Copies the locksmith made acted the same because they were copied from the worn key.

I went to the dealer and had a new key made, not by copying; he looked up the cut by the VIN number and made the key without use of the original. That one works perfectly.
