**** this. I got rear ended by a cop!! Some Asian **** decided her right turn only lane didn't apply, went straight illegally, and forced me to slam on my brakes since she merged at 15mph in a 35mph zone. I didn't hit the **** and eventually stopped 15 feet away from her. A police officer behind me was texting or something that took his attention and slammed into me at 40 or so mph.

God damnit. I've replaced the entire drivetrain plus a ton of interior shit. I'm fighting tooth and nail to not be totalled.

Oh, my neck and shoulder are all ****** up. Nerve issues too verified by my doc.

The Yukon drives perfectly and the frame damage is only where the hitch mounted.

OH NOOOOOOO! Shit man, that sucks. Good luck.

Man that blows. Especially after just putting so much time, money, and effort into it. Hopefully it can be fixed.

Awful thing to happen. Hope that you're able to recover quickly and that the tremendous work you've put into this project vehicle is not for naught.

Damn that is ****** up. Is there a reason you mentioned the person was Asian or did I miss something? Good thing everyone is alive and that the cop hit you because you know they have insurance.

Stereotypes exist at times for a reason. Even my Asian friends complain about the Asian drivers here. It's insane. I've been hit by one in broad daylight while walking in my neighborhood. Ive had to jump out of the way numerous times walking into my gym. The one that ultimately caused my accident played the poor English card until she knew the cops were going to ticket her. Then she tried to blame me. All on top of not acting like a human being to even see if the cop or I were seriously injured.

Yeah, I'm angry.

I had 2 estimates at $8200+ damage. The Yukon will be totalled. I don't have the energy to part it out so if someone wants to find a way of snagging it at the price the insurance values it, let me know.

PM or email Eric.c. [email protected] I'm in Northern VA 22030.

Dont let all those parts go to some random salvage yard.

Man, I just don't have the time anymore.

I am looking at a 2007 Yukon Denali. 6.2, 6 speed, AWD. If I get a fair payout and save for a while I can buy with cash. I can deal with high miles. Hell, I can rebuild a 6l80e if needed. I also have all the tuning hardware.

Not super pretty, but nice interior with possible NAV and backup camera. Prices are low if you look around.

A turbo 6.2 anyone?

Hmmmm....

I had the parts already so I replaced the knock sensors and harness because of a code being thrown. Plus if I end up keeping the Yukon I don't want engine damage from too much knock.

Mouse turds and dirt. Yum.

Knock sensors wet and corroded.

Crazy news. The insurance company is cutting a $7250 check and I get to KEEP my Yukon! Hot damn!

I just need to find a place to bend my rear frame up for cheap. It doesn't have to be perfect, just straight enough.

I've got a paint matching rear hatch on order for $200 from ebay. Then I need a bumper, rear tail light and then some body work on the dent in the quarter panel.

The hatch might not be perfect, but the paint matches.

Bad thing was the gate I had shipped was severely damaged in shipping. Both sides were crushed in. Its hard to find a paint matching gate. Damn.

Shes on the frame rack at the shop. I went over and took some pics. Goddamn it looks pretty good!

$500 frame, $180 new bumper, free mount.
$200 rear quarter panel pull and paint.

$880 so far out of a $7250 insurance check.

I still need to figure out a new lift gate....
