So I finally purchased my double din yesterday. I have made all of the necessary modifications to fit it nicely, So can anyone tell me how to wire this thing up?

I have a factory amp, is it best to use that? Step by step would be great, photos are good to!

I appreciate it.

Btw, the unit is a pioneer avic-d3 with navigation

there will be a pink amp turn on wire in the secondary harness. hook the blue with white amp turn on lead from your deck to the pink.

I wish I would have checked this post again before I did it all, could not figure out how to get the amp turn on. Anyways, its all hooked up and working (will post pics soon) But something must be wrong because it will not let me watch DVDs or use some of the navigation features even when the truck is in park with the e-brake on. It wont let me type in an address or anything. Any ideas?

there should be a wire for the ebrake. on some pioneers ther is a gyro that senses when the veh is moving. on some decks u cant just ground the ebrake wire. on some you need a switch to reset the wire to ground.

then you need to hook up the ebrake wire and put the ebrake on.
double check you are on the right side of the switch.

I have this unit in my Lexus IS300. Here ya go:

1. Remove the yellow and black mute wire from the harness using a toothpick.
2. Rotate and place the mute wire in the slot directly above where you removed it from.
3. Ground that wire and the solid green parking break wire to the stereo ground

That should take care of it....

Okay did the bypass tonight and finalllly I am all done with this. I kind of procrastinated on this project so it took longer than expected.

So all said and done, I have $500 into everything, and it looks/work great. I didnt do the traditional fabrication for the 00-02 trucks....I got a double din bucket and bezel....n fabbed the HVAC controls, took no time and looks good.

Did you move and ground the yellow wire that I suggested? Also, did you ground the parking brake wire too?
