What needs to be modified on the LT to fit the Z71 skid plates? Is it worth it, or are there better after market options. I have the max trailering package on my LT, but want to add skid plates and modify air dam/valance for more front clearance. Suggestions?

IMG_5905.JPG Hello MLML,

I did the following to improve the front departure angle /ground clearance:

I removed the stock air dam, also called valance also called deflector and installed the police version, PPV Tahoe model.
here is a post a made about it who ended up being a "sticky" on the forum
you could also carefully cut your stock piece but I like the clean look of this one better myself.

I also installed in all four corners Bilstein 5100 Shocks, the front one raise up the truck up adjustable from 0 to 1.75". I set those to max, and the truck is perfectly levelled now. well the rear is still 1/4" or 1/2" a bit higher but its ok first because I have a suburban that needs it with how the rear hang out and fown visually and also because we haul tons of stuff.
also got an alignment.

I went off road last week and got some really good articulation in the desert, clearance was amazing compared to stock height and stock valance.

lastly, for the skid plate I would simply install the chevrolet accessory skid plate:

That's an awesome write up and great looking Suburban! I found a fabrication guy who can make some beefy skid plates for not much more than the OEM ones. We'll see. Pics soon.
