16 Denali New Owner

Hey guys just bought a 2016 August build Yukon Denali. Nervous about the troubles I've read but so far it's perfect (500km) Little firm but it has 22's. 500kms. Also have 14 Sierra Denali which has been great so hoping for the same with the Yukon. White/ shale interior full optioned.

The new body style is a step up from the 07-14 however I still don't feel the Msrp's are worth it. This truck's Msrp was $87,340 canadian. I paid no where close to that but I'm sure some did and will again. Full optioned and still no 360 camera, massage seats (f150 have them) small sunroof and very tight back seat. (Realize this is due to rear axle but still) Also feel the seats should be stepped up over base slt.
Escalade does offer this but price tags are crazy. This is already close to 6 figures.

Reason I did purchase is I love my 14 sierra, body style, engine / trans combo, great fuel mileage and had been reliable knock on wood. Fords expedition is dated, don't like the Durango and needed dealer support close by so those were the options. Wanted something able to tow. Love gm's power train.

Anyways so far happy with the purchase and crossing my fingers I don't have any issues I'm reading. Taking a chance I felt after reading the forums.


One question. Can I shut off the adaptive cruise and use normal cruise when I choose. If not seems very silly not to allow that. Haven't been able to figure out if I'm able to. I live in Canada so im worried about snow blocking the sensor. Just assumed it could be shut off now im second guessing my decision to get it.

I dislike acc immensely. Hoping there is a way to deactivate but haven't found yet. Maybe duct tape over the camera?

From what I'm gathering from reading the sensors are low in the front bumper? And if blocked the cruise will just shut off? Seems crazy not to allow regular cruise.

Also rough ride with magnetic ride control. Read some vehicles were updated or with different parts from gm. Would my august 16 Denali already have the updates. Not looking at aftermarket this service bulletin from gm. Does the MRC auto level when towing?

I believe acc uses the camera in the windshield not the sensors. Maybe it's both.

Ride is rough which is why I have 20's running at about 32PSI

As for an update, not sure. My build was march/April.

I've had 3 Denali's. 2015 (Bought in March 2014), 2015I (Bought in Februrary 2015), and a 2016 (Bought last month). The magnetic ride control on the 2016 seems slightly better than the other 2. With that said if you have 22's it's going to be rougher than if you have 20's. On the highway and major roads the MRC ride quality is great on all 3. People need to understand that this is still a truck with a chassis. Unless you have air ride suspension you will always feel the bumps and small pot holes on bad roads. Personally I think that MRC does it's job being that this is a 5000+ pound truck.

The sensor for ACC is a radar module in the lower front bumper behind the black trim. It's off center to one side but I can't remember which side. This is the reason that You can't get the tow hook option on ACC Denali's. Well actually you can only put one on the side opposite of the radar module. I do believe that you can just used the cruise without the car distant feature. I have to look again.

MRC has nothing to do with auto leveling. There is a compressor in the rear that handles that and yes it will auto level when towing. Sometimes I can hear it running when I get out of the vehicle when I pull into the garage which my driveway is on an incline. I had to tow my wife's 2016 Honda Pilot from TN to GA and it did a great job with auto leveling. It was slightly lower than the factory rear ride height to where the front and rear where even. It pulled the trailer with the SUV with no problem. I was very impressed with the towing capabilities. If you are going to tow with a Yukon you have to get the Denali in my opinion.

Found some info regarding auto leveling.

Has anyone used the adaptive cruise in snowy conditions? Being in Canada I feel this will cause problems as I am sure it cannot be shut off and regular cruise used.
