Bad TCM update that is trying to predict rear wheel lock up then put trans in limp mode that will not shift above 5th gear. Many cases on models that already had this update, the software did not detect the problem. Only correct fix is to rework and update the valve body with steel polished spool valves to reduce/eliminate accelerated wear.
Nice try GM but not a fix, a bandaid to protect them and push problems beyond the warranty coverage. Bet there will be a full valve body recall after some accidents or the software doesn't work.

No schidt. 'PICO test' is cheaper than removing the oil pan and cleaning out the swarf.
