Noticed a circular crack on the front PS frame/cross member. Any one else have this? (78K 2005 Tahoe LT 4X4)

wow with so little miles on it that surprises me to see that! It is fixable, though, so that's a good thing.

No alignment issues, tires wear evenly, drives straight. No damage to the front end. Just noticed the crack while changing the oil tonight.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Leave it alone, have it welded, or contact GM?

If you take it to a body shop, all they'll do is probably weld it and coat it. Very strange given no damage on the truck.

I think it looks like peeling or flaking paint on the frame, but that's just what I see. Look at the other side of the frame, the back side of the crack and make sure it's cracked through, or try to scrape the crack and see if its just paint or a genuine crack.

I will check to see of it is paint or metal. Pooring down rain for now. Check when it lets up. Thanks for the suggestion. I hope that is what's going on. Strange place for metal fatigue/cracking.
