04 escalade ext on star problems

I never activated my onstar and now whenever I open a door on star comes on and says onstar ready.....goodby. How can I stop this?

Is it when you open the door or shut the door? If it's shutting the door, possibly a bad button in the mirror or steering wheel? Maybe the contacts are touching or something like that...

If it's when your opening the door, I have no idea. If you don't use OnStar, you can just unplug it. The module is behind your glove box.

sounds like it is responding to the door open digital signal as if it were a wake up/voice button press for onstar instead of the bcm.

tried unplugging the battery for a few minutes to reset all the modules?

If that doesn;t do it I;d guess you should toss onstar if unused, since it is (IMO) the obvious culprit.
