Bilstein shocks, end links, sway bars = awesome

That is great info about the Tech2, never occurred to me! That would make it a shit ton easier to get. Will the Chinese knockoff Tech2s do it too or does it have to be GM?

Bilstein shocks, end links, sway bars = awesome

Great question and obviously no. Why? Because I know that to get *real* data with sufficient statistical power to be meaningful is a VERY high bar, higher than most people have ever seen unless they are professional engineers with a test budget paid for by someone else. Do you test your setups...

Bilstein shocks, end links, sway bars = awesome

Ok, after multiple SNAFUs - one UPS' fault, the other the manufacturer's - I got my sway bars in today and installed this evening. It's this kit here: https://www.nolathane.com/collections/all/products/rev013-0030-sway-bar-vehicle-kit I got the Spohn SEL-19-416 front and HELLWIG 7961 rear...

Bilstein shocks, end links, sway bars = awesome

No, mine were stock height. You may check with Sam and compare spring rates and see if there is a benefit to switch. IIRC the proline are pretty low and you may just have to live with occasionally kissing the stops. I'd try adjusting those rear Konis first, particularly the compression side...

Bilstein shocks, end links, sway bars = awesome

I looked at them, quite a lot. At the end of the day, I couldn't justify damn near double the cost as the Nolathane and they are essentially apples to apples: same size solid bars. With sway bars I learned to get the biggest, stiffest bar stock available. It was Hellwig vs Nolathane and the...

Bilstein shocks, end links, sway bars = awesome

So installed the Bilstein HD 4600 shocks and Spohn front end links and Hellwig rear end links and as expected, major upgrade. No more multiple bounces on most bumps and dips. Massive increase in control without any discernible hit to comfort. The end links cut some noticeable body roll too...

and either are great cam candidates as you already know.

Best place to find a 6.0/6.2 crate engine?

You should be able to grab a low mile L9h, drop it in, tune it, and go. Ls3 wouldn't be that much harder and wouldn't need to have the AFM/DoD delete.

    Experience with shorty headers?

In 20+ years, I have never seen shorties give meaningful power on LS engines, regardless of mods. Mid length - yes. Long tubes - every time and significant across the entire curve with a tune. I would do long tubes or just leave the factory manifolds in place.

    Brake Squeal when not braking?

Good advice above. Make sure to check the parking brake assembly also.

ATF Lab Results, Dexron VI, 43k miles on fluid

Fluid changes and cleaning (TB, intake, top end) are the most important maintenance items on cars now...if you want it to last. Well done.

I KNOW you are right in that used to be the case, just wasn't for sure if that changed in the last couple years.

    Rough idle - no codes

I didn't since they look good (no arcing), feel good, and no codes. I may sling some on there though, just to rule it out, even though there was no change before/after.

Bose amp schematic - WTF is in it?

Thanks dub! That is enough to cement my decision, thank you. Mine isn't the lux (no center channel) but the separate volume controls, etc. makes a TON of sense. I was going to dump it for packaging purposes (amp placement) but don't want to lose the rear set/separate volume. Thank you!

Bose amp schematic - WTF is in it?

Having trouble finding a diagram of the whole amp, so far just the speakers. I see 6 channels of sound in and out: 2 front, 2 rear, and 2 sub. That's 12 wires, but there looks to be about double that going in and out. If I yank that whole unit and replace with my Audiocontrol LCQ1 and 5 channel...

    Front pillar tweetera

Just order some .75" and 1" and return the ones that are the wrong size. Obviously, you can (and should) pull one and measure - and ohm it out while you have it out. Parts Express is your friend. https://www.parts-express.com/speaker-components/hi-fi-woofers-subwoofers-midranges-tweeters/tweeters

Best place to buy extended warranty

If you are still in the original factory warranty, you can still get full boat GMPP. Beyond that, I think they might still have options, make a quick phone call to confirm...they will know right away.

    Rough idle - no codes

On my past LSs, this is usually dirty injectors, dirty MAF, worn motor mounts, a PCM update, or even occasionally fuel filter and/or fuel sender. Any other things y'all have experienced personally? Drives perfect otherwise, besides the DoD piggishness and MPGs are where they should be. Only...

    6 Speed reliability.

The trans itself: strength and reliability are quite good, especially compared to the 4L60/65/70s. 6L80/90s been holding good power for a dozen years. If you are more than stock and have it out, upgrade the converter, get a deep pan with a drain plug, and get a good tune.

Going to do Heads/ Cam. Looking for Cylinder Head CNC Shop

Advanced Induction, Texas Speed, BTR, or Mamo Motorsports. I like Mast too but if I am going top dollar, it's Mamo all the way. Me personally, I would go AI or Texas Speed.

Best place to buy extended warranty

Past life as a GM dealer service advisor...no. Now, you can and should price 2-3 and make them bid against each other. There is SOME room on pricing but some dealers negotiate and some don't. If you bought it from a GM dealer, that will likely be where you get your best price. Perfect world...
