I had a thermostat sensor fail on my 23 duramax. Fan kicked on high shortly after start on a cold engine. It was showing me higher temps though so if you're not seeing that, this may not apply. \

Unless GM does what they did with feature shortages coming out of Covid - promise they'll be installed in the future and eventually just issued a $50 part credit when GM probably decided that installing the parts on already-sold vehicles was not worth the cost in time/labor since they had...
They think there was an air bubble in the coolant system which caused it to overheat. They vacuumed it out and tested it and it's ready for pickup.
Given they didn't seal the system properly when they replaced the thermostat sensor two months ago, would I have any leg to stand on (and...
Yikes. Makes me want to look at a Toyota Sequoia but it won't have the space I need for wife + 6 kids.
I hate what the automotive world has devolved into. High-tech and finnicky. My 2008 Honda Accord hasn't given me a single complaint in its significantly longer/less "smart" life.
2023 Suburban Duramax - 23k miles.
Issue: engine overheated and told me to turn off the car to cool the engine. Under the hood, something had sprayed everywhere in the engine bay and while the coolant
Backstory: Was driving home on the freeway the other night when I got a message on the dash...
I wonder if this "update" will end up like the post-covid commitment/promise of adding chips to vehicles that shipped without features activated (heated seats); my assumption is hardly anyone had chips installed and eventually stopped expecting them.
Hopefully this update doesn't end up as...
While I don't disagree that the construction has come a long way, it may be worth nothing that, unless you got used vehicles, going through that many vehicles in that many years reduces the likelihood that you were the current vehicle owner if issues ever popped up.
With that said, I have a...
I had this happen on my 2023 Suburban probably 8 months ago. Had to schedule with the dealership to get a new OnStar module installed. Don't bother calling OnStar as they won't help.
Should be covered under warranty.
Hassle but nothing else you can do.
If you have snow where you live, ice/salt will eventually impact the motor eventually for power boards. Regular running boards don't look as sexy but it's one less thing to fail down the road.
Is the update everyone's complaining about the most recent one?
Just got an email from Chevy saying my 2023 Suburban requires an update and I have to take it to the dealership...
I know most are longshots. For reference, I've got 5 kids under 11 so that will color a lot of the changes I'm interested to see.
-2nd+3rd row middle seat head rests - Honda odyssey has them on both rows and especially with a digital rear camera negating the "obstructed view" argument, there's...
Have 5 kids 10 and under. I use the plug to power a Roku plugged into the HDMI port for the rear entertainment system. If you have a data plan, connect the Roku to the vehicle's wifi and you can stream as usual.
I only allow movies for longer drives so I don't pay for a data plan meaning I'm...
Part of the engineering genius is that the chevy symbol is completely unscathed and still front and center (almost) for the after pictures.
Marketing at its finest.
Fair point and some reassurance.
I haven't read into fuel theft tactics since I was younger as I've had vehicles with locking doors for years ( a la what @WalleyeMikeIII indicated - 08 Honda Accord with a lever (push for gas, pull for trunk) and a 08 Toyota Highlander (gas door unlock on the...
After over a year of ownership, I just barely realized that the fuel door on my 23 suburban doesn't lock. I have always had my key on me when opening and figured it locked/unlocked using the same mechanism as the doors when it detects the fob.
Is fuel theft not a thing anymore?
Is getting a...
Found out my on-star module is dead over a month ago - had been wondering why the clock was 10 minutes slow and navigation and compass no longer worked.
Dealership placed order for a new one but after calling back today to see what the ETA is, he admitted he's had these things on order for 9...
It's fantastic. Smooth, quiet, warms up quickly (we're in UT), avgs 25+mpg. We've towed a few times with it and it performed well without any hint of struggle.
We use it for quick jaunts around town often and never have any issue. I try to make sure to get a longer drive in every other week to...
I would do this same thing. Our 2023 dmax suburban has been problem free - outside of a random puncture mark in the left passenger door trim (dealership wouldn't fix). Sounds like you hit the lottery with yours; sorry to hear it.
With the updated interior, I wish the buy-back values for these...
Regen can take 15-20 minutes and will start back up fairly quickly on startup if it can't finish a cycle. If it tries enough times without successful completion, you'll eventually get a message telling you to keep driving until it's done (20+ mins). I believe it will eventually put you into limp...
