I haven't measured the height yet...I need to find a flat area, maybe a Publix parkin lot. My driveway is downhill and leans to the west...

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

Found the leak! It was at the tee where the passenger side shock line connects. The shocks are holding air now, hopefully they still are in the morning

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

Yeah, I didn't think I would actually have a disconnected connector, but sure enough that was the problem. It is hard to believe, but i was able to reattach it with one hand just by feel alone...which tells you how easily it could come apart again!

No, I won't be able to leak check until later tonight.

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

I don't have access to a Tech2, so I guess I'll have to take the truck somewhere. I'll check for air leaks first though.

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

I replaced the shocks, compressor(Dorman) and used the longer line from the kit 88987900 to run over to the passenger side shock. So the system parts are all new. I checked again this morning and could feel the shocks pump up, but they were flat when I checked after driving 30 min.

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

The connector on the driver side frame rail was disconnected! I couldn't see what I was doing, but got it snapped together with one hand. The "Stabilitrak" and ABS error message are now gone. My last concern is that the shocks do not seem to stay pressurized. I can feel them pump up when the...

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

I installed the new shocks, line and compressor. Now I'm getting a "service stabilitrac" message. Any suggestions? I know there is that connector on the passenger side that can get bumped while removing the shock, but it looks okay. Thanks.

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

I took the old compressor off yesterday after watching a video. That nut inside the frame rail holding on the bracket is kinda crazy. If you drop the nut in there it's gone! It didn't happen, but I was afraid it might.. update: After removing the compressor I realized that nut doesn't have to...

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

Just to recap this is a 2010 Tahoe LTZ. According to Rock Auto's website this part number(88987900) is for 2000-2006 Tahoe's, and an Amazon search says this won't fit a 2010. Is there another kit availabe or will this actually fit a 2010? Thanks.

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

I managed to disconnect the hose at the compressor. I then put the end with the broken port in boiling water for a few minutes and was able to pull the port off the hose. The hose is clogged though. I tried running fishing line through it and couldn't get it to go more than 1/4" into the...

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

The compressor turns on after about 10 seconds of the ignition on, then shuts off and vents. I guess if the truck is level even with the bad shocks the computer thinks all is well.

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

Thanks. Good to know I won't have to do the re-calibration. I had the truck parked so it was leaning a bit(my driveway isn't level) and the passenger shock was extended. See below. I think this verifies that this shock is shot!

"I think you'll be happy. I also went with OEM from RA when I replaced the air shocks on both of my XL Denali's. Best price around and the originals lasted for 120K of towing and people hauling." Yeah, I'm hoping I'll notice a difference, I wouldn't be surprised if the current shocks are the...

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

"There is a recommended automatic level control calibration procedure, which is run after installation, and that needs a bi-directional scanner/programming tool like a Tech 2 to accomplish." Any recommendations on where to get a "Tech 2" scanning tool or a particular brand? I have an Actron...

    Z55 rear air shock good/bad?

Yeah, thats a good point. I was initially thinking about getting rid of the air ride completely since I was given a new pair of stiffer coil springs. But after reading many threads I'm most likely gonna keep the air ride. I replaced the nivomats and coil springs on my old 2000 Yukon, so I've...
